    Default Greenhouse Guttering

I have a gardman 8x6 GH. I am collecting the water from one side of the greenhouse via the additional down pipe you can purchase. Has anyone found a way of linking the 2 gutters at the rear to make one continuous gutter. I dont want a second water butt on the other side, but would like to maximise the water collection by using both sides of the roof.

I have searched the net but cant find a product that is designed for this.

I've never seen a thing to make this possible but perhaps someone else has invented a gadget!

Hey I never thought of that! I have two down spouts, one on each side, one is great, the other is a poorly designed waste of time (can't find an exact replica of the first purchased). My only thoughts would be; would the existing down spout be able to cope with a double supply of rain water? If its not wide enough it'll just overflow before it can get into the butt. The other concern would be that your butt will fill twice as quickly. Do you have a connecting butt? I mention this because I'm constantly amazed by how quickly my greenhouse butt fills from just one gutter, off a six by eight greenhouse.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

is the no way that you could "cobble" a small piece of guttering from one side across the back and into the downpipe that you have already have, possibly using a small 30mm waste pipe ? just a thought , good luck !

Hi sweetiepea - I have a 330 litre butt with a 210 connected to it.
The butts sit between my greenhouse and shed, I am collecting water from both the GH and shed into these butts. As far as I can see it - the faster I collect water the less I pay Severn Trent. If it overflows I dont mind. The water would end up on the floor without the butts. The problem is for me - it has only rained properly just once since I put it all together, therefore I dont know how long it will take to fill. I estimate it collected 12 gallons in 3 hours.
I also have a 330 litre butt on my house - this fills overnight with heavy rain. However in peak summer ( thats the couple of warm days we get in September ) I can empty this Butt in under a week - and I dont have a massive amount of plants to water.

Just had a look on google and found this one for sale here :-

    at the greenhousepeople.

it only fits the Hercules greenhouse but you might be able to adapt or copy the idea.
