I am looking around at vegetable cages.....

Would it better to build it.........

Or buy it?

What do others think?

what's a vegetable cage? What would you use it for? Protecting brassicas from cabbage whites perhaps?

Would be cheeper to make one
This shows you how to make a fruit cage Making a fruit cage
it also shows how to make a Mini-Cloche but just use net to cover it.

Yes exactly, found one online for 27.00 for a 6x4 bed, including enviromesh, balls, tubing etc......

Last year my cabbages got desicrated.........

£27 to grow about 12 cabbages? Make one! canes and netting/voile. Play fun balls are about a fiver from Asd@ as I remember. Or use (old) tennis balls?

I just draped fleece over the brassicas last year, worked a treat against cabbage whites but the warmth and moisture encouraged slugs. also the fleece just rips with any wind. I'll use white voile (net curtain fabric) this year, its a bit tougher but still cheap
