  • Advise or suggestions on cleaning a poly tunnel

My poly tunnel is located under some overhead wires that the birds like to perch on and ultimately sh1t on my poly tunnel.

    See the photos below.

Just wondering if there are any peeps with experience of poly tunnel and whether they have washed them in the past. Does the bird poop weaken the polyethylene?

Looking forward to to hearing your comments

I wash my polytunnel every year. Luckily I don’t get much bird **it on it, just general dirt. I don’t use any detergent or anything. It’s just water and a soft brush.

If I was in your situation I’d probably just wash it more regularly.

    Sorry not very helpful.

I got a long handled caravan mop a couple of years ago, with a triangular head with lots of little noodles on. You can attach a hose to it. I got it in B&M for maybe a tenner? I can imagine that'd be brilliant for cleaning a tunnel

Thanks SP and Sariss, I have 2 of those brushes that you mention, a friend of mine used to over winter his motor home in my yard so he had the brushes here to ah it before he headed off after Easter each year. If I get a chance tomorrow I might just do it.
