  • Saving water.

Since last season's watering has finished I have been saving water in plastic bottles.Think of all the water that's wasted. Waiting for the water to get hot from the hot tap, rain barrels overflowing, also in my case water generated from a dehumidifier. Saved in plastic bottles the bottles can then be used as mini cloches when empty, and eventually recycled .I know it's hard to think of watering at the moment, but it will be needed.

Do you have a water meter NH? If you're saving every drop, you may as well benefit by it. I keep a watering can in the kitchen and run the warming up water into it - or into a bowl for washing veg. There are lots of ways to reduce your water use!

Just don't use it on seedlings. Stored water can be contaminated, and lead to damping off disease in your plants.

Affirm I am on a meter. Water saved up to press 375 gallons in water butts, 45 gallons in plastic bottles. Wev do have a water supply on the plot , but I do like saving.
