Went into Poundland today, they had a large section of gardening supplies. Walked out with a box of organic fishblood/bone, two blueberry bushes, bare rooted bleeding heart bush, a fleece, and three different 6 types-in-1 packets of seeds (kitchen herbs, sweet peas, and hanging basket), a polytunnel cloche, plus a seed starter kit.. all for a tenner!

They've got at least seven types of roses, lots of fruit bushes, flowering shrubs, and a massive collection of bulbs and seeds.

Like the sound of blueberry bushes at a squid each!

They don't take a lot of care of their plants though, and they dry out really quickly in the shop ... do check before you leave the shop (I just bought a dead philadelphus)

I am a saddo, i go late at night to the supermarkets and buy the 'dying' plants so I can revive them, when they are better they get given as gifts or go on lottie, supermarkets dont care about their plants. I once bought a tree fern from escos, it was reduced to 3.00!!! Silly people thought it was dead, it wasnt its fronds had not appeared that was all, so I got a bargain and its still with me!

                    These places just amaze me.

They must buy items by the million to offer prices like that!

I've had loads of luck with the seeds (herbs only) that I've bought from there in the past, plus a really nice blackcurrant plant.

However, have bought two strawberry plants from there which have died straight away

As i work for tesco i agree that you can get some bargains but i can assure you the "Silly people" are only following orders. All trees/plants are delivered with a sell by date. This means that if it is dying too quickly in most cases it still won't be reduced until it reaches this magical date which lowers the chance of survival.
Likewise perfectly good items are reduced because of this same magical date and some great bargains are had..

Works out great for me as i have picked up redcurrant/blueberry bushes and various herbs, potted flowers for pennies
