  • Plant Tags, Wooden Chip Forks

    Hi All.

This is my first post, so I hope you like it.

Ebay : search for "wooden chip forks".

I found a pack of 1000 for £12 delivered. that's 1.2pence a tag, not bad I feel, and you'll probably never need to buy them again.

    Enjoy

    to use as plant labels?
Won't they rot? Or are you going to varnish them?

      yes, as plant labels.

hadn't thought of varnishing them, i guess they'll probably last a growing season without rotting, then they can get added to the heap.

i suppose etched and then varnished might look ok, for the longer lived things.

Even better if you 'make yourself' have chips sometimes so you can save them!

I did, yesterday and I took a few extra little forks, but i didn't want to take advantage of my friendly local fish fryer by taking too many.

White plastic knives are quite useful as plant labels also............

ive tried ice cream sticks but i wouldnt use anything wooden again as they get covered in mould in a few days.

i like the plastic knives idea.
