  • Outdated Seed

I think I have come to the conclusion that quite a few of my seed packets may well be knackered. I have sown a few packets of seed now which are out of date to find that nothing comes up New seed it is!

Could I do something with the seeds (Donate somewhere possibly) or are they just heading for the destination of the bin?

If the seeds aren't viable, it seems pointless donating them! Think of the disappointment when the recipient tried to grow them.
I scatter leftover seeds in some out-of the way corner of the garden and let them get on with it - or not!

Some seeds like Parsnip have to be new every year, some seeds like peas seem to last for a couple of years and still be viable. Donating out of date seeds seems to me to be counter productive, I'd bin them if they were mine.
