    Anybody know what this plant is please?

    Leaves are about 1½" - 2" across with tiny purple flowers.

    Quite a lot of it in the bed under our floribunda rose

    Maybe a campanula? I'm not convinced though

      The plant is viola odorata, see RHS description https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/19006/...a-(Vt)/Details
      Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.

        Yes violets, as has been said already - if the flowers are scented then common violets, if not then dog violets - mixed with some celandines, a couple of daffodils and the odd tulip :-)
