  • 2016... So far this year I have preserved.....

A thread for those of us who want to keep a record of what we have made , and stored, using our fresh garden produce ( thinking jams, chutney, fruit in alcohol etc....)

So far I have done (in fact some have already gone )

    elderflower champagne and cordial
strawberry and rhubarb syrup, jelly and butter
    cherry jelly
    rhubarb vodka
    cherry brandy
    rumtopf (on the go)

I did try rhubarb ketchup but it turned out as chutney sauce, not quite sure what to do with it.

        Very cool... Like this thread
        5 jars of courgette chutney
3 jars of hot chilli sauce
5 jars of fruit chilli sauce

        This morning
        2 jars of pickled beetroot
5 jars of courgette & tomato chutney

Cooking right now is beetroot & orange chutney. Will let you know later how many jars it makes.

Not done much this year but so far:

          Elderflower cordial
          Raspberry jam
Redcurrant and mint jelly - possibly the lovliest jelly ever!
          Raspberry vinegar
Currently making whitecurrant wine and whitecurrant run
Possibly making this weekend - strawberry jam and pickled beetroot
Will be making loads more jams and chutneys over time.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Small Pumpkin, would you mind sharing your courgette recipes? I'm struggling to decide on chutney and soup recipes.

Up to yet I've only 6 jars of rhubarb, orange and ginger jam. Like SP I've got a courgettes in the freezer ready for bakes, soups and fritters.
