  • Pak Choi - how long in the ground before they are past their best?

My pak choi plants are about 8 inches tall and I have about 10 left (after cooking 2 tonight - they were lovely).

Can I get away with harvesting them over the next month, or will they go past their best in that time? They're under enviromesh to protect them from the sun, caterpillers etc.

I have another wave of pak choi after this lot, so want to spread out the harvest if I can.

Pic find that pak choi can bolt given any excuse so sometimes will stand for a week or two and other times will go over when you've only looked away for 2 minutes so it's a difficult question to answer. If they're already for picking I'd be surprised if they last a month but you may be OK.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
