Hi Stewart and welcome to the Forum.
Your seedling has me beat - sorry! Did you sow your seeds into fresh compost or have you reused some older compost that may have contained seeds?
Also, did you buy the seeds from a reputable seed merchant and were they from abroad?

Looks like a potato to me. Any chance of a tiny potato left in reused compost?

Looks a bit like borage but with smoother leaves?

            It does have hairy leaves...

Makes it more likely then that something accidentally got into the bag of compost?

Still have no idea what it is- it'll be interesting to watch it's progress!
( I trust you are going to carry on growing it? )

......and if you stick your finger in the compost, can you feel tiny potatoes in there?
(I really think it looks like a spud!)

How many of the plants turned out like the one in the photo?

Or does it have small blue flowers?

Because it looks like borage to me :-)

I'll go for potato, could have been a tiny spud in the compost even if it was purchased, or maybe it was a potato seed? they do make seeds.
