  • French beans, rust and onions

My French beans have pretty bad rust, although this didn't affect their yield. I'm hoping to pull them up and plant my onions in their place today. Does this mean the onions are likely to end up getting rust, too? Should I put them (and my garlic) in a different bed?

I may be wrong, but I've always thought rusts were genus specific?

      That's what I thought too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Thanks everyone - this is very welcome news, especially as I took a punt and planted the onions anyway. I didn't really have anywhere else to put them, so it's a relief to learn that they should be okay.

And they're certainly being well watered in tonight...
