I have found a huge sloe bush, can I take a cutting? And how do I go about it?

    Thanks

You can take a cutting or dig up a runner, but I wouldn't recommend it. They get big as you know but they send up shoots (runners) from the roots and make a take over bid for the garden. Why don't you let the bush you have found fruit and pick the sloes after the first frost before the blackbirds get them.

Could I put it in a large pot?

I see no reason why not. Blackthorn was on my shortlist this year, but got edged out by Szechan Pepper, and I grow everything in pots/containers

I wouldn't bother! They usually put fruit at the top of the bushes. 10ft up! Can't see that it would be happy in a pot for long.
