  • is it too late for carrots and parsnips?

I really want to grow some, but I think I may be too late (only just got my plot).

Would it be worth having a go and seeing?

I really wanted to have some parsnip this year!

Do you have to stick to the dates on the packet 100%?

    Thanks

(probably a really dumb question, but thought I'd ask )

I wouldnt say its too late as I have still a row of carrots and parsnip yet to sow and I dont plan on doing the Parsnip for at least a ten day.

that was quick thank you Teb.

I hated parsnip as a child, but I've grown to love it, have to have it with every roast now

I'll definately give them a go

A lot of people recommend the paper towel method for Parsnip but I cant be asked with all that faffing and straight in the ground works for me so far, but I make sure that the seeds are as new as I can get.

I've got a patch dug over for them, I haven't been able to add manure yet, not sure wether to bother, or just go for it and see what happens

I found some parsnip seeds in Woolworths knocked down to 60p, so got a few packets, will get them planted out this week

Dont add Manure coz it can cause forking off the roots
