  • Can I dig up my strawberries to move them now or should I wait?

    Evening all,

I wish to move the strawberries I planted summer just past to another area in the allotment where other fruiting crops are growing and I was wondering if I can do this now or should I wait until it gets 'warmer'?

Is there a set 'seasonal time' when strawberries can be planted?

    Many thanks,

    Samuel

Most hard and soft fruit are best moved when they are dormant methinks.

Agreed, get moving them before they start growing.

I think that Autumn would have been better, and Spring planted normal advice (probably normally ignored!) is to remove flowers in first season to prevent fruiting and get the plant to concentrate on bulking up for future years.
