  • Raspberries

Hello all from a very wet Wirral.

Can anyone help, and tell me how i can tell if i can tell the difference between normal raspberries and autumn raspberries.

I have inherited quite a few but I have no idea what to do with them. There are some berries that haven't quite ripe yet to harvest. Will try and take a pic tomorrow if i manage to get down there tomorrow.

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.

If they are fruiting now they are Autumn raspberries. Whichever sort you have if you cut out the fruited canes you can't go wrong.

Autumn fruiting raspberries fruit on this year's growth. Summer raspberries fruit on last year's growth.

Although if you leave the old canes in (cut back to half their length) Autumn raspberries will give a small early summer crop too.
