  • Asparagus Question!

They say you should venture every year in gardening, and grow something new, Well I did!

Now I have never eaten Asparagus, come from humble beginnings, and is quite expensive to buy! (Tight Yorkshire git as they say! Can never understand why! Most generous person going is I!) So let alone grow it!

But grow it I have! and have been told, slightly pan fried in a little garlic butter, there is nothing finer!

My query is! I set up a bed of it in spring!

    Here it is!

Was told by some to cut down the ferns about now, but then others say in it's first year let it die back naturally!

    Any advice appreciated please!

I would leave it as long as the fern is green. Let it die back naturally and cut it down to the ground when the fern goes brown.
