Sweet Corn

I have two lots of sweet corn going, one lot is in the ground the other in a raised bed. The ones in the ground are producing one cob of good size per plant but the ones in the raised bed (compost) all have two and what looks like a third one on the way. My question is should I pinch the third one off? Can a plant support 3 cobs?
I cant remember the variety but they are all the same. Also how long do people blanch these cobs before freezing?

Hi bill, 2-3 cobs per plant if fine, mine are in raised beds and the majority of mine have 3 cobs on each plant - however keep them well fed. Unfortunately I'm not sure regarding blanching them, however the majority of things that are blanched are only blanched for a couple of mins

I don't blanch at all Bill - I find things keep fine and taste better without.

I don't blanch either. Simply take all the outside off and chop them in half and put them in freezer bags.

I have a policy of doing as little as possible, so no blanching it shall be.

the main question is, do you freeze them whole, halved or in thirds? iv done a mix!

Depending on size mine are chopped in half or thirds and frozen, then (still frozen) dropped in a pan of boiling water for 10 mins when required.
