  • Runner beans

Just been to check on my runners and they have been eaten, its only the leaves, I put plenty of slug pellets round them, so don't think its slugs, unless they have stilts!!

could it be pigeons? and how do you keep them off

Why couldn't it be slugs or snails? Perhaps your runners are just too juicy to resist..

It could of been the flying rats but the thing with slug pellets is they don't kill straight away, the slugs could of gone and had a final meal before they crawled off to die. If it was Pigeons then I use bamboo canes with a couple of 1ft lines of old VHS tape tied around them at 2ft intervals between the crop I want to protect.

        That could be the problem.

You shouldn't use "plenty", you should use 1 per 4" or so (check the pack instructions). Too many and they will be ignored.

Rabbits? They often have a nibble at ours.
