  • top dressing for strawberries

    I have just cut back all of the old groth on my strawberries that are in large containers.
    what sort of top dressing would be appriate?
    You grow it; I'l tell you how to cook it

    according to the RHS publication by Harry Baker ISBN 0 85533 193 3
    ½ ounce per square yard of sulphate of potash.

    usually used copies of that book on Amazon for a few pence plus a couple of quid postage.

    Oopsie, that's for the open ground. So it will depend on the size of your pots. ½ oz between 36 6" pots(that's what you would get in a squ yard) I'd weigh out the half ounce and give a good pinch per pot. If theree is any left after that, share as equally as possible between the pots.

      Did my strawbs yesterday, I usually use a little growmore but this year I have changed to concentrated farmyard manure.
