  • wild garlic

Not growing it myself but the fields are just carpeted in the stuff at the moment round where I live.

Trying to come up with a few recipes to make use of this natural glut.

    Any suggestions?

I've so far come accross using it in pesto, in risotto, in a soup and also with steamed monkfish. Anyone tried them??

    Can you eat the flowers??

    Thanks!!!

Part of my drive home from work takes me along a river cutting. The steep banks are covered in Ramson and I always wind the window down to hoover up the wonderful smell.

slice it into thin strips and mash in butter. Freeze.

take little slices off to top grilled veg's or steaks etc.

it's also amazing added to sauted mushrooms with cream, just add the garlic leaves and wilt for a min before adding the cream. Delish IMO

You are more likely to find it in woods or hedgerows than in fields. It's a woodland plant.
