  • Conjoined tomatoes?

Just picked this marmande tomato as at least part of it was very ripe. Problem was it also had a semi-ripe and a totally unripe section.

Two thirds of it were suprisingly sweet and tasty, but the green bit was consigned to compost.

Just wondered what might cause this or is it just a random mutation?

Tis the way they grow, I have a few like this of other varieties. Seems to be beefsteaks mostly.

    Cheers, Tony.

They're very common, they grow from a misshaped or conjoined flower.......if I see weird flowers I nip them off, rather than have weird fruit
