  • First Raspberries of the Season

Just picked the first raspberries of the year today - a whole eight of them!

So many decisions to make as to how to use them all up

Just wondered what everyone else would do with them?

Thank you SL, most kind of you
It it was me, those 8 raspberries wouldn't have made it into the house and I would have kept them a secret. However, now that you have gone public, I would just eat them individually, put them in your mouth and just savour the flavour, let them dissolve on your tongue, perhaps cleansing your palate between each one with a sip of a chilled, crisp white wine?

          Anytime VC

I was thinking of making a couple of individual raspberry lemon cheesecakes for me and SWMBO (using the Jamie Oliver recipe) and adding a couple or three to each one.

More dilemma follows tomorrow when I harvest my single ripe strawberry.

I can feel the tension building already

              Unlikely.

I am still waiting to sign up for my allotment.

It should have been today, but I had a message from the secretary to say that 'things didn't go quite as planned' when they went to get the key back from the previous plot holder, and I will now be signing up tomorrow instead.

I am intriegued as to what she means.

Oh No, SL! Why did you tell me that? Now I won't be able to sleep either. Hope all goes well tomorrow

                  Don't worry VC.

The secretary has told me I am definitely signing tomorrow morning - the delay may be something as simple as having to get a replacement key cut.

Come what may I will be getting my boots on my own allotment plot at some point tomorrow.

                      As if I would!

I will be limiting myself to short bursts of activity followed by long periods of recouperation, preferably with a cool beverage or two to make the time pass faster

I will also have my 23 year old son with me to do most (almost all) of the hard work

I made flapjack with chocolate and fresh raspberries in the middle, as my first berries weren't so sweet. Turned out gorgeous
Now they are sweeter and we have devoured loads for pudding, but I get about a chinese food tub full every day from my bushes. It's great isn't it
