Flowering but no fruits toms and chillies

I have a large crop af assorted Toms growing in containers outside and some chilies inside.

They are all growing nicely and have trusses and flowers on them but they dont seem to be bearing the fruit.

I have tried self polunating methods and i'm sure bees have been around my plants in the garden because I have beans growing that have started to bear the fruit.

Does anyone have an suggestions as to why they arnt starting to fruit or is it still to early/cold.

I haven't examined everything closely but I don't think we have anything much in the way of any fruit yet - tons of flowers though. A few peppers (Marconi) are showing themselves, but aubergines not close to even flowering yet. I'm not worried, plenty of time yet Well done on having nice healthy plants!

Toms outdoors will be slower to set fruit/grow than ones inside. My outdoor ones are really, quite far behind my GH ones.

Tapping the stems if they're in a sheltered spot will help release the pollen inside the flower. If you see a flower that looks like it's dying off, then it's probably set fruit (peel the petals back gently, and you'll probably see a tiny green blob - that's the fruit! ).

The weather this year recently has been horrible... which won't have helped things. That said, my gh toms have had fruit on them for some weeks now.

When they're starting to set fruit, a feed will encourage more flowers and faster fruit growth.

Mine are the same. Lots of flowers on my toms for a good while put only a few fruits so far. Chillies and peppers flowering now so I'll wait and see.

What's the best way to feed outdoor toms? With all this rain is there a good dry feed other than fish blood and bone or is that good enough?

All my out door tomatoes have lots of flowers but no fruit yet. A couple of my chilli plants have just started setting fruit.

I read somewhere that an electric tooth brush vibrates at a similar frequency as a buzing bee and can be use to pollinate toms. I have been using this method with great succes on my indoor toms, chillis and peppers.

Yea same here, hundreds of flowers, no fruit.

I'm only growing outside tomatoes and I have pinched out two Aisla Craig to encourage them to fruit earlier I have the first truss setting with fruit. I'm also growing 4 San Marzano which seem to have tree trunks for stems, very tall but flowers only just opening. The rest of my toms are so small I'm ashamed of them but hopefully with a bit of good weather all will be well.

I have fruits on my toms , inside and out but they are growing very very slowly peppers and chillies just starting to flower , likewise my aubs........we really need some sun .......

I think almost all tomatoes are self fertile. ie the pollen is transferred from anther to stigma in the same flower...hence they (come true to type and) don't need a helping hand with pollination. (As the actress said to the bishop.)

I suspect the problem, as suggested, is this bl**dy weather.

loads of flowers on my toms, no fruits yet .... no flowers or anything on my chillies .... the handful of peppers that survived are little more than seedlings .... it's been mostly cold and wet since the beginning of april so not surprised at the lack of toms ....
