    Hi folks, will my leeks grow ok in planter bags with compost
    in them, have made holes and then put water in, please be easy
    with me its my 1st year at growing anything.

    hi asb how deep are your planters?, as leeks get big, so they need to put out a fairly big root system in order to anchor themselfs. plus when planting leeks its common to dig/dib a hole 15cm down.

        I would say that you will be OK with those containers - however your leeks may not grow to 'full' size, haven't you got a spare piece of ground that you could shove them in?

              Leeks in containers are referred to in Matt's Link:

              Growing on - in pots
              As above. Choose containers at least 30cm/12" deep but only fill to within 10cm/4" of the top. This will enable you to blanch the stems by just adding layers of compost or soil as described below.

                    dont worry about it lol, you'll have to let us know how you get on with them in pots, as i may try doing the same next year
