Can anyone advise me - I have four rhubarb plants which have produced a lot of fruit over the summer. But practically every stem had little spots up the length of it which penetrated into the top layers of the stem. Does anyone know what this is?
I've had small brown spots, like freckles, on the older stems of my rhubarb. As you say, they are under the skin too. Did you have it on young stems? I've never worried about it, peeled it off and vowed not to let the stems get too big before I pick them.
