  • Aphids, chillies and a safe spray

I've been spraying our indoor chillies with a mild (about half teasp per litre) washing up liquid solution, but it doesn't seem to be working very well - the aphids seem to shrug it off. Trouble is it seems to be making some of the leaves fall off, so I'm worried that using a stronger solution would make us lose the few chillies we have.

Is there a very cheap alternative that will actually work?

There doesn't seem much point in spending much because we've only got about four chillies on two plants.

What about a crushed garlic/chilli mix?

Or, the thumb (and forefinger)? You should ask my wife for expert tips on that [thumb], I'm under it enough

Sorry, Chris, I missed your reply.

Since I asked I've been squashing the greenfly I can see without my reading glasses on, and have sprayed them again with soap, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Do chilli plants have chilli flavour in their leaves?
