how many asparagus plants

as the title says it all really,, how many plants would i need it is only me in the family that eats it ,,and does it freeze ok

not really sure how many tips each plant will produce

It freezes fine. I have seen discussions on here with a family needing something like 20-60 plants to enjoy them frequently. I have 40 between me and the fiance. We like asparagus!

I reckon to get between 5 and 10 spears off each mature plant when they are doing well. That's one serving off each , over the season. How much space do you have, and how much do you like asparagus?

5 - 10 plants? Or if you're a glutton like me, turn over the whole plot to asparagus. If there's too much give some to the neighbours!
