    Hi all

    I've picked aload of rhubarb and it has brown rust spots on it and some have oozing sticky stuff can these still be used

      Many fruit ooze a sticky substance later on in the year, plums being one of the worst. Rhubarb is a spring early summer harvest and the later it gets the more ropey the rhubarb tends to get. If you are still harvesting (I had some this week) then you just have to cut the grotty bits off.

        I peeled mine off and chopped out anything damaged on the stems.
        You should perhaps be considering this to be the last picking of the year anyway!
