    My elephant garlic has started to flower, what should I do ?

    Nip off the flower heads - you don't want the plant to waste energy trying to produce seed.

      Don't know about elephant garlic but the hardnecks produce flower spikes (called scapes) and these can be used in stir fries etc.

        Yes, the scapes are delicious. I picked all of mine today. Half of them got eaten on the way from the garlic bed to the kitchen, and the rest ended up lightly fried with a bit of spring cabbage and some broad beans.
