  • Basil lettuce leaf

Has anyone tried Lettuce leaf basil and if so is it worthwhile to grow?
I love basil and like the idea of this big leaf variety.
I already have a few varieties to grow but if this is relatively easy and tasty then i may have to add this to my collection.

    Can anyone advise?

I grow this and find it no more difficult than any of the other basils.

Mmm.... Basil.... no wonder I love it so much, it was my Dad's name?
I'm currently trying to germinate Lettuce leaved Basil again this year, without success, and I fear that the seed is too old. But I grew it 2 years ago with huge success in our kitchen garden, and we're still, still, still, enjoying the frozen Pesto that we made from it(!) And my Lemon Basil has germinated superbly last week, so I'm cock'a'hoop.....
I also get great results with growing Greek Basil, and love the taste too.
        Good luck with yours.X

I was given some greek basil last year, I loved it too, with olive oil on home grown tomatoes, looking forward to the summer!
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
          Now a little Shrinking Violet.
