    No way !
    My girls often have the peelings from the parsnips on a Sunday.
    I do boil them very well and I don't think they have had any problems but it does make you think !

      Mine has been having celery and parnsips...only today...so no more for them!!

        I've heard parsley mentioned before as harmful but Katie Thear recommends it in her book to be hung up for pecking at! Have done so but interestingly the chooks ignored it so never bothered again. Mine have cooked parsnips /peelings with no harm - they love them.

          I wouldn't give my chickens anything I wouldn't eat myself. I really don't like celery and parsnips!

            It's interesting. Celery and Parsnip (and carrot) are all part of the Umbellifer family of plants, several of which are seriously poisonous, while others are useful as vegetables or herbs. Among others Hogweed can trigger photosensitivity. In sheep the photosensitivity can lead to necrosis, especially of the ear tips.
            Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
