Before planting a grape vine has anyone heard of placing a dead carcass in the soil first?

Hi Hunter, welcome to the vine.
No, I have not heard of that & personally wouldn't entertain it..........I may be wrong.

Sounds like the equivalent of enriching the soil with blood, fish and bone fertiliser. Personally I wouldn't use a carcass - and anyway, where would you get one from?

I have I read somewhere that half a dead sheep is the ideal matter!! I was not going to do that, where do you get a deaded sheep in London? Not exactly roadkill round here. So they got lots of worm poo instead and they seem to be happy

Dont judge a plant by it's pot.
