  • Courgettes , men only !

I have 2 corrgette plants in big pots and all the flowers , and there must be at least a dozen between them , are male . Why ?.

It has two chances , up or down.

    Hi Divvy,

They seem to start off with male flowers for the first couple of weeks and then the females come along.

I have 2 plants - like you one is only producing male flowers, however the other one to date has only produced females - go figure!

An even dafter question is it the female plant that produces the courgette? And an even dafter question do I have to put a male plant next to a female plant? lmao

                            and soft music and wine

and yes - it is the female that produces the fruit, same as we do and not they don't need any help - not really sure what the males are there for (sorry guys)
