Welcome to the Vine Charlie, there was a great thread on here about leeks a while back. Have a go with your search button.

      Hi Kelly,
I transplant when they are about pencil thick and 8 or so inches high, I get an old broom handle and make a hole about 6" deep and just drop the leek into this and then fill with water (not soil), some people will trim the leek roots before dropping them in the hole but I have never bothered doing this

          Hi! Kelly,
I plant similar to above in early June. Just after planting I give them a high nitrogen feed then in early August I give a high potash feed to help to keep off rust. Don't let them dry out when newly planted.
