  • supermarket grapes

    Hi

does anyone know what are the most common grape varieties supermarkets sell?

just looking to buy a vine that produces nice eating grapes

The grapes sold in the supermarket aren't grown in this country Ctarry. What you need to look for is something that will do well in the British climate. I'm trying Boskoop Glory.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I'm in a hot, dry area.
I have a thriving and very productive Black Hamburg growing against the SouthWest wall of my house. It's normally considered a green house grape, but we're obviously warm enough for it to do well.
Home-grown grapes don't usually come in seedless form, unless you treat them with chemicals. I won't treat mine, but the pips are a bit annoying, although reminiscent of my childhood, when all grapes had pips!

I grow grapes in a cool greenhouse in Glasgow, and I am finding that Flame, a red seedless grape has done well for the last 3 years.
