do pigeons go for potatoes?

hi all

i planted some of my spuds out yesterday and just wanted to know do pigeons usually go for spuds? my OH reported sighting of a pigeon this morning upon checking there seemed to be no obvious damage to the bed

I wouldn't have thought so. It's one of the crops I've never had damaged by pigeons. In any case, it will be weeks before the foliage is showing and they're not likey to dig down for them.
