  • Garden mint, Kohlrabi, Horse radish.

Lacking in my seed department are the named items. If anyone has them and is willing to swop, I have an abundance of veg and flower seeds to swop.
The list i have available to swop is as long as my arm. So it would, or might be easier, should anyone be in a position to swop, to simply ask what they require.
Hopefully I will be able to reciprocate.

    Hi Flob

I have some purple kohlrabi that I opened last summer that you can have by all means. It was the first time trying this vegetable for me, so I experimented and sowed some small modules with them, and got a 100% germination success rate . I grew them on indoors for a couple of weeks, then hardened them off outside to give very nice looking purple seedlings. I then left them outside while I went away for the weekend and something ate them (with an annoying 100% success rate ). So I cant tell you what they taste like! Ah well.

    I'll PM you.

If you go to each other's profiles, you can indeed become pals on here.

Flobablob...I will have loads of mint available - if you want some, PM me - send me a large letter stamp and your address and I'll pop some in the post to you. They will be cuttings/pullings and will root easily.

Many thanks for the offer zazen..I have just struck up a seed swap with M dog.
Jus hoping they don't take long to grow. Cooked spuds with no mint is barbaric.

I've got some horseradish in my garden I'm about to dig up - not sure what it'll look like or if thats what you replant, but if it is, I'm more than happy to send you some

                  Horseradish in the Garden
It reads exactly what i was hoping for.
So yes please, if you were to send me some I would be truly indebted to you.
Perhaps I could return this generosity by asking you to name any seeds you might require as a gesture of thanking you.

No problem flob, I'll get digging tomorrow so can you pm me with your address. I don't think I'm wanting anything at the moment though (apart from that melon that you can grow outdoors - but I think its a new variety, so I doubt anyone has any spares) - but thanks for offering

I have a packet of Mr Fothergills Melon ( passport F1 ) Which can be grown inside or 'outside in cloches'. Might be what your looking for ? Failing that please feel free to ask me in the event of any future seedling requirements you happen to fall short upon.
Digging up horseradish for me in these sub artic conditions lends me to paraprhase, 'going above and beyond the call of duty.
                      Will PM my address.

                        Awwwwwww, you're making me blush

I'll check out what melon it is I'm fancying, but I'm not too worried at all. I've had quite a few seeds of peeps from here and have given hardly any out, so I figure it kinds of balances itself out

"Dons thermal undies, thick socks and a hefty pair of gloves to start that digging"

                              Hi Flob

Got back from work last night to find the packet you sent me in return, so many thanks.

Good luck with the kohlrabi and mint, and i'll let you know how your beets and chillies perform! Same time next year for another swapping session...?

                              Cheers.
