    hi i have been growing some parsnips and the stalks and leaves are quite long, would it do any harm if i cut the length of the stalks down, thanx for any info

      Well, if they are anything like mine, they are flopping out over the path, and whenever I brush past them and it's been raining (like, all the time) it soaks my trousers.

      I'll take the secateaurs to some of the most protruding leaves, and can't see that will do the plant any harm. I wouldn't scalp them, though, Andyc.
