  • Grew these strawberries without even trying now what...?

    Hi everybody,

I had an empty strawberry punnet, that had a green top left in (hull??), i rinsed it out ready for recycling, left it on the drainer, and went away for a few days. When I came back, it had sprouted and I have my own little strawberry plant. It has loads of shoots now and is coming up to two inches high now, I water it, and it lives on the window sill, but I dont know what to do with it now because it is still in the punnet, no soil or anything. Should I re-pot it?

    Cheers for any suggestions.

    Lucy

I would. Strawberries grow easily from seed and will be OK, whatever they turn out to be like. I'd put them outside before they get used to indoors, they are rather hardy plants.

I'd put it in a little pot, not too big. Over-winter it somewhere sheltered, and plant out in springtime when it's a bit bigger & stronger.
