  • Dessert apples

Our dessert apple tree is an (unknown) early variety, and just about ready to start dropping fruit all over the place. Does anyone have a chutney/pickle recipe which uses dessert not cooking apples, all the recipes I've found in several books use cookers. We have loads of jam so don't fancy making anything sweet.

While the chutney recipes state 'cooking apples' most of them will work with eaters (you just get a slightly sweeter chutney). Last night the Hairy Bakers did an onion soup which included dessert apples, to enjoy with the cheese-and-ale bread.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
