  • Tomatoes going soft

I've just been outside to check on my tomato plants and the tops of my beefsteak tomatoes are going all soft and wrinkled, almost like how your fingers and toes go if you stay in the bath too long. They're not discoloured at all. They're outside against a south-facing wall in a planter with a water reservoir in the bottom and we've had a few problems with over-watering because of the bad weather recently. Could this have caused it? I've had a look in the Vegetable and Herb Expert book but nothing matches. It's only the beefsteak tomatoes that have this, the cherry tomatoes are fine and they're in the same planter.

    Hi
It might be quite an important point, but have they gone red yet? or are they still green?

They're still green, none of my toms look anywhere near going red, despite being sown in January.
