  • Help with shallots please.

I just pulled some shallots today and noticed little clusters of what look like eggs, larvae in the soil. They were planed in pots. The shallots look o.k albeit a bit small. I don't notice any mould on the bulbs. Are they safe to eat and is this normal? First time gardner too so any advice is much appreciated.

could be Vine Weevil, could be slugs/snail eggs.

I found ants and their eggs in the bottom of one of my clusters of shallots. Could it have been those?

I gave the bunch a few taps against the wooden edging on my raised bed then left them for 5 mins for the ants to clear out. No damage to the shallots.

Mine had woodlice clambering all over them but they didn't do any damage... just tapped the bulbs and they fell off.

Mine attracted baby slugs but they seem okay and are drying nicely

Sounds like snail eggs. Leave em for the Birds.
