  • Rhubarb with discoloured leaf problem

Hello, we have a rhubarb plant where a leaf is turning brown / yellow, but the rest of the plant is okay. Please see the attached picture for a better idea what the problem looks like.

Now this picture was taken a few days ago, and looking at it this morning, the yellowing is spreading over the leaf. Should we pull the stick + leaf and chuck it in the dustbin, or is the plant missing something from its diet?

Rhubarb leaves/stalks will die off normally which this looks like to me. I put mine in the compost bin.

I think it's getting to the fag end. I normally don't pull sticks after mid July to give the plant time to fold up naturally. Then I leave the stalks and leaves on so it can build up its strength.

It's the first time we have grown rhubard, so we where not expecting the plant to do that! Thanks all...

Plants often do things you don't expect! Expect the unexpected.
