  • carrots & salad onions

I have an old bath, now with holes in the bottom and half-full of a mix of topsoil and sharp sand. I want to grow carrots and salad onions in it.

Will it be OK if I just scatter some seed randomly over the surface, cover with compost and thin out any overcrowded areas later or should I be more ordered about it and do rows?

Tis what I do, although not in a bath. i just mix up the seeds and sprinkle them sort of evenly and see what comes up.

Depends on how ordered you like things to be; no-one sow seeds in rows in nature; If they are slightly overcrowded you can eat the smaller ones as baby carrots and leave the others to push each other apart.

Ta! That's what I'll do then.
