  • Wanted: Chamomile Lawn seeds

Hi everyone, does anybody have any Chamomile Lawn seeds? I am happy to send SAE or I can exchange for the following seeds:

    Foxglove
    Evening Primrose
    Love-In-Mist
    Poppy seeds
    Pot Marigold
    Granny's Bonnett

    Basil
    Aubergine
    Swede
    Brussels Sprouts
    Black Salsify
    Chantenay Carrot - 1 packets
Marrow seeds - 2 home collected packs
Pumpkin seeds - home collected pack.

Or does anybody know where I could get a large quantity as most places just give you 20 seeds in a pack and I don't think that will be sufficient. I need enough to cover an area 250 by 300 sq ft.

    Any suggestions much appreciated

    Kind Regards
    Amber

I have a feeling that the variety you need for a chamomile lawn (Treneague) doesn't flower - so you won't get seeds. It's popagated from cuttings. Otherwise you wouldn't get a lawn, just a flowering chamomile patch.

On the flip side I brought a small Chamomile Treneague plant late last summer with the sole aim of harvesting the flowers for tea.

The plant has spread significantly but not produced any flowers. After a rather frustrating 10 months I decided to do some research today (thank god I left the plant label in showing my which variety I had brought!). Only to find out that it doesn't flower

I've purchased some flowering seed for next season, but I've wasted a year because I didn't do my research... There is a lesson for me to learn from this somewhere......

Anyone in the south Wales areas want a free chamomile plant? it's now about 12" in diameter - warning it doesn't flower!!!!

Vic, why don't you sit on it!! You could grow a chamomile seat like Snadger's http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...tml#post200774

Nice idea. The 12 inch clump should divide into quite a lot of small pieces which would soon join up again.
