  • Problem with Vine Peach Tomatoes

I don't think they are Tomatoes.

The seed looked like Tomatoes, however the Cotyledons where shorter and more rounded than 'normal' Tomato leaves, and today I saw that the first true leaves are starting to resemble Cucurbit leaves, but only just.

I have managed to attached 2 crap photos of what I mean.

The first sowing of these seeds a few months ago did exactly the same, so I dumped the pot and re-sowed, these are the same.

I will continue to grow these to see that happens, but if anybody got or sent in the Vine Peach Tomato seeds to the VSL, have you had the same experience...?

Or have mine been mysteriously been in contact with cosmic forces and are not mutations?

Doing a gurgle 'vine peach' is a melon, aka mango melon and it is the size of a peach. However I understand the seed would be small but they should still look like melon seed not tom seed

Not that it helps but I sent in 'garden peach' tomato seed

What did the seed look like? Can you take a photo if you have any left?

I do have seed left, it looked like tomato seed, when I get home I'll try to post a picture.

But I'm now leaning towards Cucamelon.

When I get home I'll photograph the packet with the handwriting on, see if it rings any bells.

          Bit of an exciting mystery.

I failed miserably at posting a picture, but can confirm the vine peach tomato seed I got from the VSL is cucamelon.

Did the seeds come from the VSP or HSL?
Maybe yours aren't cucamelons but Vine Peach - Ancient Melon of Many Uses | Terroir Seeds
              They look interesting!

The VSL. I had not renewed my HSL membership until a few weeks ago....

                      Aahhhh the VSP Tomato List!
I don't remember a "Vine Peach" Tomato coming in when I had the VSP.
If you can't post a pic, is there any other info on the seed packet - like date saved?

Could you have got it from another seed swap?
