No, I don't get peppers to fruit in winter SBP, but I did get them to fruit very early. I've got plenty now, and some I've just let redden. Will post the pics tomorrow. I just wondered if everybody elses Pepppadews had grown so tall and slim as I've no idea what they should look like.
Piglet, can you help.

Sorry Reb, I haven't got any peppadew peppers yet, they're just getting ready to flower now. But I do have plenty of other peppers from seeds I saved from last year - variety unknown - but they're very prolific. This is their second flush for this year.

Default Over Winter Pepper Plants

I know several folks who over winter their Pepper Plants in containers. I have not done this because of limited space. I am sharing this Link which may give you some ideas about keeping those rare/difficult to find Pepper varieties.

If anyone has success with their plants, and ends up with a few spare seeds, I'd be interested in giving them a go.

Incidently, since information isn't widely available, presumably to guard any investment in the species, does anyone know if they are an F1 variety of some sort?

Just wondered, because if they are, obviously the seeds won't necessarily grow true to the original.

They are open pollinated and if grown away from other peppers or chillies will come true to type.

Piglet, my Peppadew peppers are 4 feet high and of very slim growth type. Just making flower buds now and looking very healthy. Is this their normal growth pattern.

Yes Alice, mine last year were between 4-5' tall, quite open in their growth and once you see the fruit you will see the quite distictive shape of it. Please save some seed for me as I want to keep an open gene pool.

I have two peppadew plants. The one in the GH is about 2 feet tall and has only one side shoot but has branched at the top. No flowers yet. The one on the south-facing patio is only about a foot tall so far, but is sturdy and has side shoots all the way up the stem. Also no flowers yet.

If the plant needs more warmth, then maybe they won't be very successful with these cool wet days. I'm just hoping that July and August will bring some summer weather .

I have two Peppadaw plants. Seed received from Pigletwillie. Both are doing well with flowers on both and the beginnings of a couple of peppers. Will save seed if anyone wants some.

Great Bramble. I have 4 plants but just at flower bud stage. I'm hoping I won't run out of year before they get to ripe fruit stage. I'm certainly giving it my best shot.

With such a bad summer Alice perhaps we will have an indian summer that will take us well into autumn with good sunshine and light.

HI piglet are you growing them this year, and if so, what stage are they at. Mine have just begun to show tiny little peppers.
