Can I just check-do the seed packs need to be sealed or can you include packs that have been open and a few seeds used?

Alliyah

The parcel I received had a mix of both unopened and opened packets as well as some in homemade mini packets - just make sure they're properly sealed.

Those who make their own seed packets (and thank you, I've found a couple of great templates on here) how do you stick them down? I'm having a devil of a time - pritt seems to get everywhere but cellotape isnt going to be secure enough?!

I have lots of seeds sorted and ready to add when my turn comes around, just need to make some pretty packets for them!

these things are lots of fun, I have done them before with a recipe swap.
we found the best way was for a mod to edit the first post with the list of names, adding those who request to join, and marking who had already recieved.
that way anyone new can see who is next, who had it last, etc etc.

we just used to pm the mod in charge ( or the person with the first post who had edit priviledge) when we had recieved and passed on, worked really well.

might be fun to organise a 'secret seed santa' in december too.

Double sided sellotape. I just LOVE it and use it for lots of things. When I first discoverd it I wanted to have its babies!!

the more i think about it, the more i like this idea, seed swap is great in it's self, but truthfully i am so new to this gardening stuff, that I would worry that I have nothing 'unique' or worthy to offer in return when i see something on this forum that i would like to have a go at growing, at least this way it's like the bran tub at the village fete, you stick your hand in and pick a prize, and noone knows who donated what

I think it's fair to go down the thread in the order of who 'joined' the parcel line when or there's a good chance that someone might get missed out.

Hi Everyone

As my name suggests I'm new at growing my own from seed. Tried a few veggies and flowers this year with mixed results.... (those pesky slugs and snails grrrr). I would love to be included in the seed swap, cos I always have more seeds than I need in a packet. Look forward to hearing from someone LOL. Regards Anne

I guess it's not an easy thing to administer and if someone is a personal friend of the Parcel 'current owner' they're are more than likely to get chosen next.

I'm not complaining either just saying as I see it. If it comes, it comes.

SMS6 I totally agree with you, if I get a PM then all well and good, if I don't then I'm no worse off than I am now. Of course we all want to get the parcel or we wouldn't have put our names on the thread.

Great isn't it!

Hello - I know I'm really late - didn't notice the thread before this evening. I live in Brittany, but would love to receive and give seeds. My daughter can take delivery and I can send her seeds straightaway and she will send parcel off for me. So if it's possible, please count me in. Thanks.

Default deleted in a week??

Is there any chance we could start it again somehow or ask mods not to delete?

Smile Organising Seed Swap

Would it not be easier to edit the original post with everyone who's had the parcel, who it's going to now and then an ordered list of who should have it next?

So where are the parcels now? It's all gone a bit quiet - I have visions of someone in their potting shed gleefully sowing seeds fit to bust, giggling cos they got one.
