  • Traffic Light Chilli Jam

Just made the "Red" batch tonight! This is based on Nigellas chilli jam recipe but with twice the amount of pepper for the colour and I have made the jams correspond to their colour ie green = mild, orange = medium and red = OMG STOP I'M HOT!

Going to make Chilli hampers at Xmas with perhaps some cheese and crackers and a pack of chilli seeds!

Whats his face from here gave me 1 of each of those colours last year.. blew my head off!

forgot his name, it'll come back to me!

Edit: T8tr They look great, make great xmas pressies.

We tried them in my work last year, fruity but damn hot! I think he used Fatalli (spelling?) chillies in his.

          here you are...

CHILLI JAM | Recipes | Nigella Lawson: Nigella Lawson's official site for recipes, books and latest news

I used 3 of each colour peppers and used the same colour of chillis. I then just used 3 in the green one, a few more to make it a bit hotter in the amber and about 15 in the red one! I also used distilled white vinegar... (but only because I couldnt get anything else!)

No apple in these, just chilli, pepper, sugar and vinegar!

Even bigger trick would be lining the colours up edgeways on so that you could take your pick when spooning it out!

PS Its the amber traffic light that I will struggle with!

                              BRILLIANT!!!!!

I'm going to try this as I have loads of cilli's this year, but most of my apple blossoms were blown away, and the survivers made into puds, so my usual chutney recipe is defunct.
